The Maidstone Studios is an independent TV studio complex on an 11 acre site with 5 television studios, dubbing facilities, edits suites, a fully saturated lighting grid and office space. The Maidstone Studios has previously welcome shows such as Draw It! Returning for its 46 th series, the popular live music show Later… with Jools Holland features performances from legendary musicians as well as new up and coming acts from all around the world.
The first episode of this new series features Blur who are making a welcomed return after an absence of 15 years from the show. They will be performing tracks from their upcoming album, MagicWhip.
It also means that the pre-record allows for the artists performing on the show to spend time with their friends and family when the clock strikes midnight. Stormzy will perform Crown and more tracks from his second album, Heavy is the Head, as the final hour of passes by. Meanwhile, long-standing Welsh rockers Stereophonics will take to the stage to perform songs from their recent — and seventh — number one album, Kind, plus a classic tune.
La Roux, who returned with new music this autumn after a five year break, brings a taste of her forthcoming album, Supervision, and performs her hit, In For The Kill.
Eighties pop icon Rick Astley will be bringing a bit of nostalgia into the festivities with a performance of the classic Never Gonna Give You Up. Log In. Contact us Sign up for newsletters. A new format featuring a main guest under socially distanced conditions and remote performances has been a lifeline for artists unable to tour during album campaigns.
So I'm very excited — editorially, the show just gets stronger and stronger. It's the only show on television that focuses on bringing the hottest new talent to the audiences.
While it obviously helps that people are stuck at home, ratings have been strong for Later… in the past year , including a record result of 4. The programme featured new and archive performances from artists including Celeste, Roisin Murphy and Ella Eyre.
So we added this February run of six episodes, and then there will be a further run of six in May. We want to make sure that we're doing our job by bringing them great music, young talent and the stars of the moment, which is what the show does.
