There are several currencies to keep tabs on as you play The Sims Medieval, but Resource Points are especially important. The more RP you amass, the more buildings you can erect in your kingdom. Every building serves multiple purposes. Many can host a Hero, which opens up a number of different things to do within The Sims Medieval, such as new quests or new Simole-making activities.

You earn RP by completing quests with your Heroes. The better you do at finishing a quest, the more RP you win.

Well go over the parameter of quests in a moment, but if you thirst for RP to populate your realm with more buildings and Heroes, then you need to really excel at quests. Your overall Renown is measured by the RP you earn. It is cumulative. If you earn RP, then your Renown is If you spend 50 of those RP, your Renown is still Renown unlocks several things, including the Reception Hall building and the ability to discover several neighboring territories.

The current status of your kingdom is measured by four different Aspects: Well-Being, Security, Culture, and Knowledge. Each Aspect has 12 slots. That means your kingdom has the capacity for 12 upgrades on that Aspect.

However, when you begin a new game, your kingdom only has two of the 12 slots unlocked. To keep unlocking capacity, you must erect buildings that address that specific Aspect. For example, the Jacoban Cathedral unlocks one security slot and three culture slots. Now, just because you increase the kingdoms capacity for one of these Aspects doesnt mean you automatically get the benefit of that Aspect. Sticking with the Jacoban Cathedral example, just adding the building does not automatically make your kingdom a more cultured place.

No, you have the fill that capacity with actual culture. To fill the current capacity of a Aspect, you must successfully complete quests. Every quest contributes to at least one Aspect. When you look over available quests, be sure to look at what Aspect they satisfy. If you go on a quest that fills more of a Aspect than you have capacity for, you dont automatically open up more capacity. That reward just goes to waste. Excelling at your Professions is critical for winning the day, so we show you how to generate experience and level up like a pro.

Hero Professions Every Hero you introduce to your kingdom must have a specific Profession. There are ten different possible Professions in the kingdom, from Bard to Physician. Each Profession has a specific building in which they dwellHeroes cannot move to a different building that doesnt match their Profession unless they marry another Hero. Professions offer Heroes several different defining features. Not only does each Profession have a unique way of generating Simoles, but they also have different behaviors and actions.

Its these differences that make the Heroes in your kingdom fascinating to spend time with. The questing you do as a Jacoban Priest, for example, will not mirror the adventures had by the Physician. After all, the Physician cannot absolve sin. But they may have a medicine that helps with whatever a Sim caught after a good binge of sin. Crafting You undoubtedly noticed that many Professions allow for the creation of items, such as swords and potions.

This activity is called crafting and it takes place at the Crafting Table object, which is automatically installed in the buildings associated with a crafting-able Hero. Crafting requires two things ingredients and recipes. All crafting Professions have a handful of recipes at level 1. However, as that Hero levels up, they often learn more recipes.

Some recipes come by acquiring recipes. During small travels or adventures, for example, your Hero may be sold or offered books that contain recipes.

This can include Heroes that do not craft. Its up to you then to make sure the book gets into the hands of a Hero who can benefit from it. Every recipe requires ingredients. Weve included the ingredients required by recipes here so you have advance knowledge of whats in store, but the necessary ingredients appear next to the recipe in the game, too.

Ingredients can include herbs, fish, minerals, objects from the Village Shoppe, and more. Crafting Tables can be stocked, too, so you dont have to carry all those ingredients around with you. Once you are ready to craft an item, just sidle up to the Crafting Table, left-click on it, and choose the appropriate crafting action for your Heros Profession.

The Hero then springs into action. Success is not guaranteed. The recipe picker works much like an active interaction, such as hunting. The color behind the object determines the chances of success, which is derived from both the general difficulty of creating the item and the Heros current Focus. Green means your Hero will be successful.

Yellow offers a chance of failure. Red means you should probably just back away from the Crafting Table and work on Focus. Leveling up also increases the chances of success. A potion thats red, for example, might be tough to make at level 3. But at level 6? Could be a piece of cake. Now, if you do fail at crafting, dont worry. Only three Heroes can engage in swordplay: Monarch, Knight, and Spy. Each of these Heroes starts their time in the kingdom with a default, low-quality sword and dismal combat skills. Fortunately, you have the means to change both. Earning Simoles allows you to buy better equipment from the Village Shoppe. And if you have a Blacksmith in the kingdom, they can craft high-quality Bring it, knave! Leveling up also affects the swordfighting prowess of your Heroes and often results in the learning of new moves.

The very first thing you do when starting The Sims Medieval is create a kingdom. Every kingdom is built upon an Ambition. Because this is our first play, the only available Ambition is Busy Builder, which means the goal of this kingdom is to develop buildings. The more buildings we create, the further we go to satisfying this Ambition. After selecting the Ambition, name the kingdom. Our kingdom is named Verily, but by all means, bestow your own fine name upon your new realm.

Now that youve created your kingdom, its time to survey it. You begin every game in Kingdom Mode, which lets you view the realm through the eyes of the Watcher. Time stands still in Kingdom Mode. Though you have a lot of land within your kingdom, its not a populated place. The central structure is the Throne Room, which is the castle keep. This is the seat of the Monarch, which is required to officially kick off any kingdom.

In the upper-left corner of the screen, youll see a small window that tells you that your kingdom requires a Monarch, the current amount of Renown, and the number of Resource Points RP you have RP is the currency used to erect new buildings within your kingdoms borders. An Ambition is the driving force of a kingdom.

There are 12 Ambitions, which include goals such as amassing wealth or achieving certain kingdom Aspects like security and well-being.

New Ambitions are unlocked by satisfying requirements of the current Ambition, as long as it is connected to the completed Ambition on the tree you see when you start a new kingdom.

For example, the crux of the New Beginnings Ambition is to build important structures within a. Ambitions have multiple degrees of success. Erecting five buildings will earn you a bronze medal for the New Beginnings Ambition. But the more buildings you create, the higher your medal. You must at least score a silver to unlock the new Ambition, although some require gold medals. Ambitions linked to two other Ambitions may have multiple requirements. The Legen Wait for It Dary!

Ambition requires that you score a gold in Fame and silver in Safe and Sound to unlock it. There are 18 buildings for your kingdom. Every kingdom automatically has a Throne Room, which is the seat of the Monarch and required for the basic functionality of a kingdom.

But beyond the Throne Room, you call the shots over what buildings go up. Many of the buildings have Heroes, which are playable Sims that you use to go on quests, which in turn help you win RP, Simoles, and more. But some buildings, such as the Watcher Pavilion or the Mill, do not host Heroes. These buildings contribute to the Aspects of your kingdom, which well go over in a moment. You can only have one of each Profession in your kingdom.

You cannot have two Spies, three Wizards, or eight Blacksmiths. Well-Being: This represents the general happiness, comfort, and contentment of your community. It encompasses the physical and the fiscal health of the people and the kingdom as a whole.

Leveling up is accomplished by bagging experience XP. One of the biggest sources of XP is completing quests. The active Hero es get a nice XP payout upon completion, which increases depending on the quest performance at the conclusion of the mission. However, thats not the only means of generating XP.

Every Profession has at least one activity that grinds XP. Many Professions, though, have multiple activities. The Bard also can earn XP by writing poetry or plays, as well as from gathering inspiration from other Sims or nature.

Security: This represents the general safety and stability of your kingdom. It encompasses the ability of the government to enforce laws, prevent crime, maintain borders, and protect its citizens.

However, many Professions have extra options for earning Simoles, such as crafting items and then selling them. All Heroes can also fish or collect wildflowers to sell for Simoles, but only certain Professions can mine or gather herbswhich can in turn be sold for profit.

Some buildings are static creations and once erected, do not naturally lead to the creation of other buildings. However, some buildings are linked. The creation of the Barracks, for example, adds the Training Yard in the kingdom, which offers Knights and other Heroes a place to practice their combat skills on training dummies. Culture: Culture represents the peoples devotion to artistic and spiritual matters. In aesthetics, it encompasses the creation and veneration of poetry, art, and music.

In faith, it encompasses a belief in a higher law and greater purpose to life, and serves as a basis for morality and values held in common by the people. Knowledge: This presents the general education level of your community. It encompasses comprehension and scholarly pursuits in areas as diverse as medicine, lore, and mathematics. And, if all else fails, theres gambling at one of the card tables, such as the Game Table inside the Throne Room. You can also install them around the kingdom, too, via Furnish Mode.

But gambling is a risk and can result in lost funds. Raise the Knowledge Aspect of your kingdom to generate extra XP.

Every Hero has actions and socials that are specific to them, such as the Bards ability to recite poetry directly to another Sim. When you click on another Sim, look for the menu with the Profession header.

Thats where you find the Profession-specific actions and socials. Every Aspect has multiple evolutionary steps that occur as you develop your kingdom by increasing capacity and then fulfilling it through successful questing.

You can opt to just Spar with another Sim in the kingdom. The interaction is located in the Profession menu when you click on a possible target.

Sparring is great because it generates XP, raises STC with the target good for relationship-building , and results in no wounds. The loser is knocked out and typically lies on the ground for minutes. When they get up, they have a negative woundspecific Focus buff.

The farther you slide, the more pronounced the feature. The Age Modifier allows you to designate the general age of your Hero. This just adds wrinkles or features like crows feet. There are two Body Modifier slider bars. The top bar alters the weight of your Hero. If you slide it to the left, they are very skinny. As you move it to the right, your Hero starts putting on a little weight. By the time you hit the right side of the slider bar, your Hero is quite portly.

The second slider is muscle definition. Like weight, sliding it to the left reduces mass. When its all the way to the left, your Hero is quite scrawny.
